Dusting Off

Everything is different now. As I’ve said before: time is change.

Looking south toward YHM on the first day of spring.

This more of a functional update than anything else.

I had grand plans to relaunch this blog as part of its tenth year anniversary in October of last year, but that didn’t happen. I thought perhaps a decade–inspired tier list of its best (and worst) posts might be more possible than a complete relaunch, but that, again, didn’t happen. And that’s okay. Stuff doesn’t always have to happen as planned—or even as envisioned.

Stuff happens regardless.

One thing that did happen was a change to where this blog’s content lives. Previously hosted abroad in Pittsburgh, PA, USA—this blog is now where it ought to have been hosted the entire time: at home… in Canada. As the United States continues down its destructive embrace of democratic fascism, I realized the words themselves (and their origins) would be under ever–increasing scrutiny by those that did not understand them.

I thought it best to move these words (and my address) to a safer place.

The second thing that did happen was the removal of user accounts. Originally put in place to prevent content harvesting by AI trolling bots, I realized this created a situation where visitors could no longer browse my blog without providing some sort of identification. Papers, please… seems innocuous enough when it’s just an email address, but that’s how all of this always starts: it’s a slow creep.

This blog is now open again to all visitors analogue or digital—or anywhere in between—with no ID required.

Just like how the entire internet used to be…
